We are delighted to welcome our new Executive Chef, Heiko Riebandt, to The Killarney Park Hotel. Heiko has 20 years experience and has worked in award-winning five-star hotels and Michelin star restaurants across Europe.

He spent his early years in the renowned former Relais and Chateaux Property Hotel Schloss Hugenpoet near his hometown in Essen, Germany, and then went on to work in two-star Michelin rated restaurants and five-star hotels in Switzerland and Germany.

Over the last number of years while in Ireland, Heiko has made appearances in the popular TV Irish breakfast show Ireland AM, where he presented ‘Five Things to Eat Before You Die‘.

Heiko’s signature recipes also won him acclaim while he worked as executive head chef at The Lodge at Doonbeg, Co Clare.  This followed with an appearance on ‘Ann Liguori’s Live Radio Show’ in July 2013 and he also featured in The Wall Street Journal as part of an article on Chefs’ Recipes for Homemade Holiday Gifts.

Heiko was also listed as of 36 Inspirational Chefs in the Relais & Chateaux Cookbook. In Heiko’s own words: “I generally don’t like to talk about me as to what I have done, rather I like to focus on what I’m doing and what I will do in the future, every day is a new day but never forget where you came from.”

We would also like to introduce our new Sous Chef Cormac Vesey, who trained in Waterford Castle and The Cliff House Hotel under Michelin-star chef Martijn Kajuiter. “My biggest cooking influence is Raymond Blanc, his seasonal approach has inspired my cooking and I am looking forward to bringing the skills I’ve learned here,” said Cormac.
