Homemade brown bread

Every day in the bakery in The Killarney Park kitchen, we make brown soda bread. Our special recipe has been developed over our twenty years in business.


12 onces whole meal flour
4 onces plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon bread soda
2 onces granola
1 once butter
1 egg
375-400ml buttermilk

Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Mix all dry ingredients except the granola and rub in the butter.
Add the granola and the egg
Mix in by hand
Add the buttermilk
Place in a butter loaf tin and bake for 40 minutes
